ELIMe is designed to be privacy-first. Your data stays on your device (localStorage and IndexedDB) and never leaves your browser except as described below.

Analytics

We use Next.js Analytics to understand basic aggregate usage. This is lightweight and does not collect the contents of your prompts or explanations.

What we send to OpenAI

When you ask for an explanation, we send your question and, if you choose to create a custom profile, the profile details you provided (for example, background, learning style, and interests) so the explanation can be tailored to you. We do not send your local history/logs.

Storage

Profiles and configuration are stored in your browser's localStorage. Explanation history is stored locally in IndexedDB. You can clear these at any time from your browser settings.
